How To Calculate Crimping Amount Of Hydraulic Hose
When crimping hydraulic hose and fitting, please notice:
1. Make sure compression ratio of hydraulic hose
2. Make sure crimping amount of fitting’s outer casing
And calculate in accordance with diameter of hydraulic hose’s inner tube, change of steel wire reinforcement layer, compression ratio, to make hydraulic hose firmly crimping with fitting.
After crimping, diameter of fitting’s outer casing is:
D=(d1-d2)+[DO-(D2-D1)]-E(D1-d2-A)
For above equation:
D means diameter of quick coupling and hydraulic hose after crimping, mm; /C b1W p yD F.C/s*
DO means outer diameter of outer casing
D1 means outer diameter of steel wire reinforcement layer
D2 means inner diameter of outer casing
d1 means outer diameter of quick coupling’s mandrel
d2 means inner diameter of hydraulic hose
A means thickness of steel wire reinforcement layer
E means compression ratio; one layer 0.4-0.43, two layers 0.43-0.46, three layers 0.46-0.50, four layers 0.5-0.54
After crimping and connect hydraulic hose and fitting based on calculation, it is necessary to proofread its strength. One conservative method is measure hydraulic hose fitting’s maximal internal stress and maximal shear stress in burst experiment.
